There is a youtuber called Mr. Dave. He thinks all old computers shall be going to ewaste or a landfill.
I think they shall have better software installed on them like MX Linux and Linux Mint for desktops.
Even those large workstations and servers can be used as desktops if the user does not keep them on their desk but on a separate table.
Actually I have a HP Z420 on a separate table with two large monitors on the work desk. Maybe someday the desktop shall have cables going to a 42U rack.

We provide managed ICT Support for multiple companies along with other services. And I was noticing that recently the same windows 11 I used to install seemed to give strange errors while installing. And then I had to install windows 10 on some computers.
This was after I had noticed that the security issues related to malware like viruses or holes in the security were present in windows 10. So Windows 10 is clearly not reliable as a solution.
It is important to note that we have not had a malware issue for over 30 years on any Linux machine. This because Linux is reliable and why it is used in 24/7 servers which have to work with 99.999%+ uptime.
The reason it HAS to be used in servers and is a defacto choice. All other choice makers have been fired for having their systems NOT delivery reliably.
Desktops and Laptops and other devices have been held back by the noise made by the Microsoft supporters. Some people shifted to Apple Mac when Apple delivered an OS based on the Mach Operating system which was a bit more reliable than windows. However to be able to maintain any OS and come close to the efforts of the Opensource community which supports and upgrades Linux is a totally expensive venture which I think no commercial software company can do. Especially if Linux is around to provide a low cost best reliability option. The commercial company shall have to somehow make a better more reliable system AND be able to sustain it over a decade for people to notice it and then somehow PAY people to use it just to get some penetration in the market.
How expensive is Windows 11. And how you shall be getting restrictions without paying. Expect to be locked out completely soon. At any time. Just because your windows 11 works for now. It shall cost at least USD 140 anytime to continue it. It is like boiling the frogs slowly. All old users and old computer users shall be boiled slowly.
